Making patterns

We are making repeating patterns using 2D shapes and then exploring to see what else there is in the classroom that we can make patterns with.

Wee are also making patterns in the paint and with dinosaurs.

Cannon Hall Farm

Year 1 had a super time at the farm today...

Shapes!

We are sorting 2D and 3D shapes and learning to describe them using key maths words. We are building towers using our 3D shapes and naming and describing them.

The Tall Tower

2 Blue were stuck at the top of a tall tower. They had to find their way out, collecting as many spells as they could on the way out! Here they are, working together, to find the best route out of the tower!

It has been an exciting couple of of weeks in year 1. We have been looking after some baby chicks for a local farmer! We have been very busy learning all about them so that we can write our own information books. We enjoyed learning about their favourite foods... Weetabix, chick crumb and wiggly worms!
